My First Earthquake Experience

Today I experienced my first Earthquake! It was not what I expected and I really didn't think much of it. While others were scared and nervous I just stood there thinking "the building is shaking, must be an earthquake". There was no sense of panic in me, but then again it was a small earthquake, only a magnitude 5.9 and the center of the earthquake was in Virginia, so NYC didn't get hit as hard. I had a sense of wonder and excitement while the room and the things in it shook.

Some buildings were evacuated here in New York City but for the most part everyone simply brushed it off and went back to their normal routine. New Yorkers are pretty tough and have been through a lot of things so most just shrugged the earthquake off. But I hope that we do not continue to have more earthquakes and larger ones at that.

Here is something that was floating around on Facebook and Twitter within an hour of the Earthquake. It's Capitalism at it's best....
